Sixty-seven years ago, CANAL Insurance Company began its voyage to provide the best auto insurance to the trucking industry. Through the “Winds of Change”, our course is set to continue providing a stable market. As we guide the ship though new water, we want our retail agents, and policyholders “on board” for the voyage.

“New Voyage”
After 30 years of using the basic auto forms, CANAL is embarking on a “New Voyage”. This new “Combination Policy” will utilize the most current ISO forms while maintaining a unique place in the market.

Rather than issuing four separate policies, the “Commercial Package Policy” will combine Auto Liability, Auto Physical Damage, Motor Truck Cargo, and General Liability into a single policy.

Program Guidelines
Canal Insurance Company offers a variety of coverages designed specifically for the public auto & trucking industry. These products and programs can be packaged or tailored to meet the needs of each individual insured.
Features of the Combination Policy:
Modified 03/06 ISO forms
Admitted Carrier
Combined Deductible for Physical Damage and Motor Truck Cargo
Canal will maintain its approach of providing Pollution Coverage
Motor Truck Cargo:
Debris Removal with a $10,000 limit with the option to increase
Earned Freight at a limit of $1,000 each with the option to increase
Commercial Automobile Physical Damage:
Towing Limit at $2,500 with the option to increase
Auto Loan/Lease Gap Coverage is optional
Trucker's General Liability
Uses the 12/04 ISO forms
Contractual Liability Coverage is optional

CDL-A for 2+ years when operating a unit with a GVW of 26,000 LBS or more
Owner Operators
Long Haul or Local Radius
Dumping Operations
Uniform Intermodal Interchange Agreement (UIIA)

Taxi Cabs:
Local Taxi risks
Airport Transportation
Fleet Risk:
Risks of one - 24 power units
Fleet Risk:
Risks of 25 or more power units
Written on Gross Receipts or Mileage basis
